What do I need to do to join the Mosquito Fleet Kayak Lending Library?

Two things: 1) participate in a Fleet social paddle OR training, and 2) attend a Kayak Lending Library orientation. Check out events page for both!

What if I was a member of the Kayak Lending Library last year?

If you used the Kayak Lending Library in 2023, you will still need to attend a social paddle OR training and a Kayak Lending Library orientation. We have a bit of a different setup this year, and want to make sure folks feel confident and safe taking to the water with Fleet boats and gear.

What if I can’t make it to a scheduled Kayak Lending Library orientation?

If the orientations on our calendar don’t work with your schedule, reach out to us via email and we can work something out! (mosquito@mosquitofleet.us)

What hours is the kayak lending library open?

The library is open during daylight hours, beginning May 11, 2024.

What do I need to go on a paddle?

Once you have selected your kayak, be sure to grab a PFD (Personal Flotation Device), paddle, a bilge pump, a spray skirt (optional). PFDs with a whistle are legally required!

Can youth / children use the kayak lending library?

People under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The Kayak Lending Library agreement and participation waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Can I put a boat on my car and paddle elsewhere?

Please refrain from taking boats away from Green Anchors. We ask that folks launch from and return directly to Green Anchors. The Fleet offers free public paddles in other locations - check out our upcoming events, or reach out if you have an idea for a paddle!

How many boats can I take out at a time?

The lending library has 12 boats available for public use. We ask that you always bring a buddy with you when you paddle, and feel free to paddle with a group as well!
